In Egyptian Art and its Influence (1885), Sydney Herbert explains that the Egyptians deified Noah and claimed that he had become a star in UMa. Elijah Hinsdale Burritt placed "Al Kaphrah" by chi UMa, in the right foot of the bear in his 1833 Celestial Atlas, but Heis moved it to kap UMa in 1872.
